Who are these courses for?
They’re for young people aged 14-16+, but there are no rules. If you think the courses sound interesting you can do them whatever age you are.
How can I Change the Background Colour of my PC Screen?
– Click on the start button of your computer or laptop and find “Settings”
– Click on “Accessibility” and then “colour filters”
– Choose the colour filter to meet your needs
How are these courses designed for home education?
These courses don’t assume you are studying in school, or studying for set subjects or qualifications, or studying for a certain number of hours a day. They don’t expect you to fit into a box. They are designed for young people in home education who are learning in a unique way that is right for them.
Are the courses free?
Yes. We are a non-profit organisation and everything we do for young people, parents and educators is free.
Do you have to do all the courses in the programme?
No. You can just do the courses which interest you if you want to.
What do you get on completing each course?
You can get a certificate of completion to download.
Do you have to do all the courses in one go?
No. Once you sign in, your course progress is saved. You can stop and start whenever you like, and do it at your own pace.
Do you have to do every activity on a course?
No. The courses are designed so you can explore what interests you. To get your certificate of completion, you just have to mark each page on the course as ‘complete’. That means you can read the topics, watch the videos, and do the activities you want. If a topic doesn’t interest you, you can just mark it as ‘complete’ and move on.

The surveys cover questions surrounding post-16 choices, careers education, life and work skills, and what personalised support would be useful. All survey responses will be anonymous and they only require an email address to allow us to follow up with our resources.

Addvance Maths is recommended by home education parents for Year 9 maths GCSE preparation
Chase my Grades
Chase my Grades is for Tuition, small group tuition and online subscription services for GCSE and IGCSE biology, chemistry and physics.
CGP Books
CGP Books are used by many home ed parents to support with KS3, GCSE and A-level subjects in terms of learning and revision. Best used in conjunction with real past exam-style questions.
MathsGenie

MathsGenie has numerous free KS2 maths exam questions by topic.

eMaths

eMaths for past papers for KS1 through to GCSE, with video lessons and an interactive geometry toolbox.

Home education support

Education Otherwise
Education Otherwise promotes and supports your right to home educate in the way you choose to. Education is compulsory, but schooling is not.
Educational Freedom
Education Otherwise UK-based non-profit offers home educating parents free information and support, including legal templates for e.g. deregistering your child.
AWE Discounts (All Ways Education
All Ways Education Discounts. Find discounts for home education resources.
Local Libary
Check your local library for additional support for home education. Libraries with partnership funding can provide books and other home education resources free of charge.
Shine Training
Shine Training offers guides, resources and podcasts to support home-educating parents and young people aged 14-16. They also offer support with permanent exclusions.
